Building a Kingdom...

Kingdom of Few is the amalgamation of 4 distinct musical personalities in order to create a new sound and mood in the rock music world. For far too long the rock scene has been dying, Kingdom of Few hopes to be that spark that kick starts a new wave of music to take back the radio waves that once belonged to rock and roll.

The origins of this band, like many others, start in the ashes of a former one. It was late 2008 when Alex Parks was playing bass for a successful cover band around Calgary when he was bitten by the bug and began writing music for an original side project. After leaving the cover band and quickly enlisting good friend John Clarke on drums, the pair was off recording tracks in Alex’s basement preparing to tryout singers. Many singers came and went as months passed before Curtis Butala answered the ad in the FFWD magazine Alex had placed in March 2009. Curt was an instant hit with Alex and John showing his awesome vocal and stage presence as well as a ton of energy. He was added to the lineup that night. A week later a guitar player by the name of Reno Serani became the final piece of the puzzle by adding his exceptional guitar skills to the mix. The four band mates quickly became friends as songs began almost writing themselves.

Kingdom of Few has been playing shows in and around Calgary Alberta since May 2009 quickly establishing themselves as a very popular live act and building up a solid fan base. Starting in September 2010 Kingdom of Few went into the studio to record their debut EP. Spending the next 10 months at Music Center Canada with award winning engineer Johnny Gasparic at the helm, they were able to produce a 6 song EP that well represents the band's diversity. With the EP CD finished, Kingdom of Few is poised to make a full blown assault on the rock radio airwaves promoting their brand of rock and roll.

Feeling their music was ready for large scale exposure Kingdom of Few released their first single “Rich Man” on January 23rd 2012, to 70 radio stations across Canada with the help of radio tracker Ray Cave of Music Solutions Inc. and digital music distributor Joe Wood of RDR Music.
