Curt hails from Golden BC where he began writing and performing in 1995. Playing guitar in a garage band at the time Curt found his true calling when he broke his index finger on his left hand. Which prevented him from playing guitar and making him focus on his singing. He began his journey to Kingdom in 1996 in a band called Denied which enjoyed moderate success around the Golden area, developing a fan base & playing live shows. Denied lasted until 1998 when things became stale. Opportunities for new exciting bands where few and far between in Golden so in 1999 Curt moved to Calgary Alberta to seek other like minded musicians. Curt laid dormant for a few years while setting up in the new city, it wasn't until 2005 when he join Seven Ways Down, a small time project that wasn't up to snuff in Curt's book. Having trouble finding other musicians at the time Curt released a solo album in 2006 as well as provided music for the film: Cauliflower Ear and the Modern Day Warrior. After gaining much experience from the solo album Curt wanted a band again when he found Scantly Clad in 2007. After a year of trying to make it work, Curt became fed up and left in 2008. It wasn't until March 2009 that Curt stumbled upon Alex's ad in the FFWD magazine for a singer for a new original band in town. After trading emails with each other Alex sent the tracks over to Curt to add lyrics to. Curt loved the music so much the songs nearly wrote themselves. A week or so passed before Curt came to the basement to audition for the lead singer spot, and when he did it certainly breathed new life into Alex & John. It was amazing to finally hear the tracks with a solid vocal performance on top of them. Curt's energy is unmatched, his presence on stage is a sight to behold and his writing ability is astounding. Curt is the front man for Kingdom of Few no doubt about it.
